Nice choice of food to lure the worms into the upper tray… SQUASH! I would guess that the dry shredded cardboard you dumped on top of the food will absorb some the moisture released from the squash (some will ooze on down to the lower tray I’m sure, but that will feed and attract the worms upward… right?) and from the humidity in the bin. Nice way to keep things from getting too soupy, right?

yes Steve i am trying to draw them up from the lower tray with the pumpkin. yes i am figuring that the cardboard will get wet from the moisture from the pumpkin. i was just down in the basement a little while ago. i lifted the tray to see if it was working. and they were gathering on the top of the middle tray thinking about their approach up so far so good.
